Water damaged electronics, especially phones and other portable devices, is something of a common occurrence these days, and something we see on a daily basis at Tyson Tech Repairs. What is also far too common, is waiting far too long to get the device looked at. It is imperative to get the liquid removed from the internals within 12-24 hours after the ingress. Any longer than that the risk of short circuits and corrosion increases.
Obviously there are no guarantees when it comes to liquid damage, but the key is speed and efficiency. We have a high success rate when these factors are taken into consideration.
YouTube and rice are all well and good, but are never going to be a substitute for getting the device stripped down and assessed quickly.
